Proper Home
Oral Health Care is Vital to Keeping Your Natural Teeth
Some of the many kinds of bacteria
that are normally present in a person's mouth grow and form a sticky,
colorless film on teeth called plaque. If plaque is not removed
by proper oral health care, it can form a rough deposit known as tartar
or calculus. The calculus makes the plaque hard to remove and
this situation can provide an environment that can lead to periodontal
disease.
So, to help prevent periodontal
disease, it is very important to maintain a healthy mouth by having
proper home oral health care. Proper oral health care is obtained
by performing the following tasks at least once per day, and preferably
twice per day.
Brushing
your teeth
Systematic and regular brushing of
your teeth at least once per day helps remove the plaque from the
teeth and helps stimulate the blood circulation to the gums. You should
use a soft bristle brush with rounded bristles, and should replace
it regularly when the bristles become frayed, worn, and limp looking.

Flossing
You should floss only the teeth you
want to keep until old age. Proper daily flossing of your teeth can
help remove the plaque from between your teeth and from under the
gum line where normal brushing can not reach. We recommend flossing
at least once a day, preferable after brushing. For some excellent
